MAORI TURTLE

Among the Maoris, the turtle is of great importance. It is considered a symbol of longevity, peace, stability and fertility. According to tradition, the tortoise is associated with a creation legend which tells that the god Maui fished out a giant tortoise to create the earth. Maori also believe that turtles have spiritual connections to their ancestors and can guide them in their daily lives.
The manta ray in its center symbolizes the protection of humans and the guardian of the oceans.
